Summary: Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) operates a sea turtle hospital that provides care for stranded and rehabilitating sea turtles, as well as medical support for resident turtles. Safe handling of large turtles requires specialized lifting equipment, but CMA's current lift system has degraded over years of use and hurricanes, resulting in frame instability and winch damage that limit mobility and pose risks to both turtles and staff. This project will replace the A-frame and winch to safely move turtles within the hospital. The upgraded equipment will improve the efficiency, safety, and quality of care for large sea turtles in rehabilitation.
