Grant: 26-062C
Project Title: Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Therapy Laser
Project Manager: Bette Zirkelbach
Organization: The Turtle Hospital (Non-Profit Organization)
Grant Amount: $16,000.00
Completion Date:
Summary: The Turtle Hospital will replace its existing, antiquated Class 4 therapy laser, which is currently experiencing electrical issues and operates at a lower intensity, with a new M-Vet MLS Therapy Laser. This therapy laser serves as a crucial adjunctive treatment for many of our patients, aiding in the rehabilitation of sea turtles by accelerating healing, reducing inflammation and swelling, and managing pain. A new, higher peak power therapy laser is essential to ensure the seamless and effective treatment of our patients. The acquisition of this new technology will provide long-lasting efficacy and proven therapeutic superiority. By enabling more efficient treatments, the new laser will reduce the amount of time turtles need to be out of the water, allowing them to recover more quickly and return to their natural environment sooner. This upgrade is critical to maintaining the high standard of care we provide to our sea turtle patients.
