Summary: This project will purchase an updated and higher-functioning radiograph machine for use by the medical care staff at Mote Marine Laboratory's Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Hospital. The current system is unreliable and problematic, and it is permanently installed on a floor above the hospital's turtle holding area, making radiographs of large animals a challenge. The new radiograph machine will be portable; thus, it can be taken to the animal. This equipment will be used to monitor sea turtles admitted to rehabilitation as appropriate for their cases, and will be taken elsewhere to assist other permitted partners, as needed.
