Summary: The Florida Park Service (FPS) takes a proactive role in protecting sea turtle nests and nesting habitat in Florida. The Florida State Parks Foundation is pleased to apply for the following described equipment which will enhance their work to protect and monitor the wellbeing of sea turtle activity on FPS beaches. To date, FPS has purchased 40 TDC100 units, 13 Mi-Fi data plans, and have spent thousands of staff hours successfully implementing data collection technology. The purpose of this project is to purchase newly developed TDC600 units that have more memory and the ability to handle larger data sets collected at eight of the highest density FPS beaches in the program plus one unit for our program leads in Tallahassee.
