Why does it matter which license plate you buy? In Florida, revenue generated by the sale of Sea Turtle License Plate funds critical sea turtle conservation work via the Sea Turtle Grants Program (STGP). The STGP disperses around $400,000 in grants every year to coastal counties, educational institutions and nonprofit groups. The STGP has awarded over $7 million in grants to support more than 470 sea turtle research, conservation and education projects, all thanks to license plate sales!
